Chapter 11: Snowy Rhuddin ❄️

Chapter 11: Snowy Rhuddin ❄️
a healthy drop in temperatures for the young orchards

Not long after a little festive break in North Wales, we were back and starting work on the old hedges. Chain saw and loppers in hand, wrapped up in woolly hats and thermals, it felt great to be back outside working on the land. That was the day it started to snow. Having not long moved up from Cornwall, we were as excited as kids and really enjoyed it. It was quite a thing looking down across the baby trees covered in snow and over that next week Cwm Crai turned into a winter wonderland. On several mornings this winter we woke to hard frosts with the thermometer showing as low as -8 one early morning! These young trees really have had every kind of weather come their way this first year, reinforcing the resilience and hardiness they found at the beginning of their journey in the Cambrian mountains. As have we!
